I (Cindie) learned the hard and painful way that bicycle saddles designed for men are not appropriate or uncomfortable for women. Men and women have very different rear ends so it only makes since that they would have different looking bike seats. Women's bicycle seats have many differences compared to men's but mainly they are wider to accommodate a woman's wider hips and shorter to fit our smaller bodies. If you are a woman reading this and are currently riding a bike saddle designed by a man for men please read on. Comfortable cycling demands a well fitting bicycle touring saddle. I ride a Terry saddles especially made for a woman's anatomy. In my early days of biking I was constantly in pain while riding my bicycles. I changed bike seats often looking for a solution. I bought so many different bicycle saddles it was getting expensive and Tim complained about installing them. Then I found Terry brand women's specific bicycle saddles. These comfortable bike seats are designed by a woman for women. She came up with the unique design of cutting out the center of the saddle where it presses against a women’s sensitive area. Soon I had a Terry saddle on my mountain bike, road bike, touring bicycle, and tandem. When I was getting ready to leave on our around the world bike tour I called Terry Bicycles in a panic asking what saddle should I use for a long tour. She had a very simple answer for me. Use the one you are using now so I left with a Terry Liberator Ti racer. She was right! I was comfortable and had very few saddle sores or cycling discomforts. I now ride a Terry Ti Race Saddle and it works just as well. Personally, I would not ride a bike without a Terry saddle or designed specifically for a woman. Terry Woman's Specific Bicycle Saddles
