from Tim and Cindie:  This Gore Pass 3 is our favorite tent for a bike tour of the many we have carried and slept in.  It is the perfect combination of being incredibly lightweight for its size, sturdy in bad weather, and still roomy enough to fit both of us and our gear.  The natural color makes great camouflage for hiding in the woods or those questionably legal places we camp.

Our hiker/biker campsite on the Oregon Coast Bike path - Adventure Cycling's West Coast trail in our favorite tent: the Big Agnes Gore Pass 3 Person Bicycle Touring and Backpacking Tent

Gore Pass 3 from Big Agnes is a 3-season tent with plenty of room for 3 backpackers and their gear. Despite its spaciousness, it still only weighs 6 lb. 10 oz.

* Single hub/pole design creates more usable floor space and headroom than other tents so you don't need to sacrifice comfort to keep your pack weight down
* Lightweight DAC combination pole system with Pressfit connectors uses an anodization process that lessens environmental impact; this tent is a snap to set up
* Double doors allow access from either side; offers 30 sq. ft. of storage space under 2 vestibules
* 1 vestibule may be staked out as a shade with your trekking poles, sold separately
* Fly is made from coated ripstop polyester and floor is made from coated nylon taffeta; all seams are taped with waterproof, solvent-free polyurethane
* Mesh body offers excellent ventilation and views
* Reflective guyline and reflective webbing on tent corners supply nighttime visibility
* Includes 4 mesh storage pockets and superlight aluminum stakes
* Fast pack pitching: In nice weather, use only the poles, rainfly and footprint (sold separately) to save weight
* Average minimum weight specification is based on tent, rainfly and poles only

* Setup is simplified through the use of a DAC Swivel Hub pole connector and DAC Twist Clips
* Lightweight fabric has a high thread count and double twisted thread for strength and durability
