The entrance to the Udaipur palace.

The palace has many different wings, each dedicated to a former Raja.

A famous Raj and his famous horse. This guy was so tough, he could slice his
enemy and his horse, right in half with one stroke of the sword.

One of the charming wall decorations from the women's quarters.

An embroidered swing in a dollhouse room.

Palace guard.

Picture taking tourists.

Some of the rooms are a bit over-decorated. This one is blindingly sparkely.

Udaipur City through the colored glass windows.

Every corner of the castle is intricately embellished.

Many of the walls are decorated with highlights of castle days. Apparently they
did a lot of hunting.

More fantastic stain glass windows.

A view of the island palace. It's a fancy hotel now. You can rent it for
weddings.

Another reflective room.

Miniature paintings on the wall.

Chipmunk.

A nice little corner for a break.

Cages and boxes for carrier pigeons.

A view of Udaipur.

Courtyard.

Castles can be a little impersonal, but every once in awhile you find a
little corner that you could really get into.

A view over the Udaipur manmade lake.

Lots of gingerbread.

A throne to overlook the realm.

Glimmer room.

Women living in purdah could still get around without being seen in these
comfy boxes.

Another nice little corner.

A room of sculpture.

The horses wore nose armor. It's meant to disguise them as elephants.
