Hi All:

Well, as many of you know, and some of you are about to find out . . .

I'm finally off on my big round the world bike trip. I didn't quite make the targeted July 1, 2001 exit date . . . but, hey, what's 30 days when you've got 40,000 miles to do . . .

If you wish periodic updates . . .please respond to JeffAGoGo@hotmail.com, in that way, I can automatically enter your preferred e-mail address in my Hotmail address book which is pretty much accessible around the world at any cyber cafe . . .

The Web Site is in it's infancy . . . I will experiment with sporadic e-mail updates at first, then as I get more missives and PHOTOS I will start posting them on the site and give you all a URL.

In the interim, the first stage looks as follows: August 5'ish to September 10'ish, Northern California and maybe Oregon for a test run of the gear, packing, racks/panniers, and BOB Yak trailer, along with ensuring I've not packed too much/too little.

Following that, I have met an English Lass who will accompany me on a San Fran to Baja Mexico run beginning October 8. From there, she flies back to her boyfriend in England, and I continue to Mainland Mexico with winter in Central/South America . . .

At least that's the plan for now.

Wish me luck, send me good thoughts and forward any addresses of people with soft beds and warm showers who can put up a sweaty and dirty world traveler . . . best, Jeffrey
